CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines –Thirty new patrol jeeps were turned over to 17 municipalities in Cavite and 13 in Rizal yesterday.
Interior Secretary Mel Senen Sarmiento, who led the turnover ceremonies, said the Mahindra jeeps are expected to boost the anti-crime campaign in Region 4 A.
Chief Superintendent Richard Albano, Calabarzon police director, said the vehicles would be used in special operations, including relief, search and rescue during calamities.
Ninety-four patrol jeeps were recently distributed to various police stations in the region. Laguna got 24 units, Quezon, 39, and Batangas, 31.
