SOUTH COTABATO, Philippines – Policemen arrested in separate operations Tuesday two of the top ten most wanted persons in South Cotabato province.

Danny Taude, wanted for rape and other heinous offenses, and large-scale drug trafficker Farida Buisan were nabbed the same day in South Cotabato’s Surallah and Santo Niño towns, respectively.

Also arrested along with Buisan were drug couriers Joemar Feldad, Macky Malimblang and June Jay Cabantud.

Tuade was arrested by plainclothes policemen at the public market of Surallah in northeast of South Cotabato.

Tuade did not resist arrest when agents frisked and cuffed him in public and showed him a warrant issued by Judge Roberto Tayco of South Cotabato’s Regional Trial Court Branch 26.

Buisan and her cohorts were cornered by members of the Santo Niño town police at Barangay Ambalgan, their transshipment point for shabu they peddle there and in nearby towns.

The police team that raided their hideout recovered from them several sachets of shabu ready for dispersal and drug sniffing paraphernalia.

The police will charge the suspects with violation of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Philippine Dangerous Drugs Act, using the drugs seized from them as evidence.
