BULACAN, Philippines – Anti-narcotics agents shot dead a suspected drug trafficker and arrested his son and two others in an anti-drug operation in Santa Maria town on Saturday afternoon.

Rodolfo Bermudo, alias Bok, was reportedly a known drug trafficker in Barangay Caypombo, according to provincial police director Senior Superintendent Ferdinand Divina.

Members of the municipal police and agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency arrested Bermudo’s son identified as Dave Joshua, 18, and two other minors.

Based on reports received by town police chief Superintendent Rodolfo Hernandez, Bermudo fired at the raiding team who swooped down at his house, triggering a firefight.

Police recovered from the scene a .38 caliber revolver, a 9mm pistol, bullets, seven plastic sachets said to contain shabu, marked money and drug paraphernalia.

The younger Bermudo was brought to the police station while the two minors were turned over to the social welfare officers.
