11 PDEA informants get P2.6 M
BAGUIO CITY, Philippines – Three informants from the Cordilleras were among the 11 persons who received cash rewards from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) for helping in the anti-drug operations nationwide.
The tipsters received a total of P2.6 million in cash in a ceremony held at the PDEA headquarters in Quezon City on Monday.
The first tipster from the Cordilleras got P49,000 for helping PDEA-Cordillera agents seize over 40,000 grams of marijuana bricks and arrest a drug trafficker in Baguio City in December last year.
The second informant received P80,000 for relaying the transport of 60,000 grams of marijuana bricks by four drug couriers in San Juan, La Union in March.
Another tipster get P34,000 for helping arrest a drug suspect with 285 grams of shabu in this city in April.
The cash reward is part of PDEA’s Operation: Private Eye aimed to encourage citizens to report any illegal drug activities in their community.
Of the 11 tipsters, one received the biggest reward of P2 million for helping the Quezon City police seize 44,000 grams of shabu and arrest two pushers in June.
