MANILA, Philippines - Two men suspected to have been victims of summary execution or “salvaging” were found in Barangay Pio del Pilar in Makati early Saturday.

SPO2 Jason David of the Makati Police Criminal Investigation Division (CID) identified the two as Genesis Gonzaga and Ricardo Cortez.

David said Gonzaga and Cortez, who are both members of the Sputnik Gang based on tattoos found on their bodies, are allegedly robbers operating in Makati and Pasay City.

According to police, Gonzaga and Cortez were found with their hands tied and stuffed inside separate black garbage bags along Calhoun St. at about 5:30 a.m.

David said the bodies of Gonzaga and Cortez bore multiple stab wounds all over. David said the victims could have been stabbed by an ice pick.

Gonzaga and Cortez, said David, were also strangled as shown by ligature marks on their necks.

David said that it is possible that the men were killed elsewhere and their bodies were later abandoned in Makati.
