TACURONG CITY, Philippines - A powerful explosion ripped through the office of Tacurong City police’s Traffic Management Group (TMG) Sunday night, causing panic among villagers residing in houses nearby.

Investigators said two men riding a motorcycle together were behind the bombing, using a Mark II fragmentation grenade.

One of the two suspects hurled the grenade at the entrance of the TMG office. Both of them escaped immediately riding their motorcycle without a license plate.

Superintendent Junnie Buenacosa, chief of the Tacurong City police, said it is possible that people affected by the TMG’s campaign against stolen vehicles and undocumented motorcycles were behind the bombing.

No one was reported hurt in the grenade attack, but the incident triggered panic among folks residing in villages near the TMG’s office in Tacurong City.
