ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines – Government security forces rescued four victims of a human trafficking syndicate and arrested their alleged recruiter in Bongao, Tawi-Tawi last Friday.
A joint police and military team launched the operation after receiving a tip that the victims were in a passenger ferry docked at the Chinese Pier, said Ensign Chester Ian Ramos, spokesman for the Joint Task Force ZamboSulta.
Ramos said aside from the victims, authorities found the alleged recruiter, identified as Henry Alsamala, in the ferry bound for Malaysia.
The victims were turned over to the provincial social welfare office.
