Iloilo town executive, cohort fall in drug raid
MANILA, Philippines - An official of the Janiuay municipal government and his alleged cohort were arrested in a drug sting around noon on Monday.
Armando Pepino, 53, municipal sports coordinator, and Mark Garete were collared at Pepino’s house in Barangay Don T. Lutero West.
Members of the raiding team recovered 16 plastic sachets of suspected shabu and three other plastic sachets with shabu residue, said Senior Inspector Fernand Limbungan, Janiuay police chief.
Limbungan said Pepino was accused of involvement in drug trafficking in the past years. “He would lie low for a while but would return to his activity after some time,” he said.
