‘Drug dealer’ yields guns, grenades

NORTH COTABATO, Philippines – Authorities seized grenades, guns and shabu from a suspected drug trafficker they arrested in Kabacan town Wednesday.

Abubakar Abdul Mantis did not resist when agents of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group and members of the Kabacan police stormed his hideout to serve a warrant for his arrest.

Mantis had been wanted for drug offenses. He was also said to engage in contract killings in Kabacan and nearby towns.

Aside from shabu, Mantis surrendered three grenades, a .45 caliber pistol and a .357 Magnum revolver to police officers who raided his lair in Barangay Kayaga.
