MAGUINDANAO - A retired policeman was killed while four of his relatives were injured on Sunday in a high-speed car crash on a national highway in Datu Abdullah Sangki town in the province.
The fatality was identified as Umbra Masukat, 58.
Senior Inspector Beverlyn Abnico, chief of the Datu Abdullah Sangki municipal police, said the victims were riding a black Toyota Fortuner, bound for Tacurong City, when it turned-turtle after overtaking two hauler trucks.
“The driver apparently lost control causing the vehicle to flip, turn-turtle and land on a roadside creek,” Abnico said.
Masukat and members of his family were supposed to attend a traditional Moro wedding in Tacurong City, about 30 kilometers northwest of the accident scene.
Masukat’s injured wife, Lukaida, 58, and three others were rushed by responding barangay officials and policemen to a hospital.
