2 nabbed for guns, drugs in Cagayan

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines– Two men including a village watchman were arrested for alleged possession of drugs and firearms in separate operations here and in Solana town, Cagayan on Wednesday.

Raffy Natividad, 32, was under police surveillance weeks before his arrest along Macapagal Avenue here, said Senior Inspector Ramon Macarubbo Jr. of the provincial police intelligence unit.

Police seized from the suspect a 9mm pistol, eight plastic sachets said to contain shabu, P2,199 cash and an unregistered motorcycle.

In Solana, village watchman Deogracias Mabborang Jr. was nabbed in a drug sting in Barangay Centro East, said Chief Inspector Rogelio Caronan, town police chief.

Aside from drugs, police seized from Macarubbo a caliber .45 pistol and P1,000 in marked money.

Meanwhile in Pampanga, police and agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Region 3 (PDEA-3) arrested two suspected drug traffickers Wednesday in Angeles City.

PDEA-3 director Jeoffrey Tacio identified the suspects as Amino Andamen of Barangay San Nicolas and Suplado Bantuas of Barangay Sto. Rosario, both in Angeles City.

The suspects allegedly sold 200 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P560,000 to an undercover agent.

The suspects are being held at the PDEA-3 detention cell while charges are readied against them. – Raymund Catindig, Ric Sapnu
