MANILA, Philippines - Police nabbed four suspected members of crime syndicates in four separate operations in different areas of the country, seizing several firearms, explosives, illegal drugs, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group said on Tuesday.
CIDG chief Director Benjamin Magalong said operatives first captured Jonjee Aquino, an alleged member of Makabenta robbery group, in Bayabas Street, Napico, Pasig City on Monday.
Police seized from Aquino a Remington caliber .45 and four sachets containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu.
Meanwhile, authorities also apprehended around 5 p.m. on the same day, Jerry Cabalan, the suspected leader of the Cabalan robbery and drug trafficking group in Tagum City.
Detectives recovered from the suspect’s possession a .38 homemade revolver and four live ammunition.
Around 7 p.m., authorities nabbed Michael Ramos, an alleged member of the Palen group, which is engaged in gun-for-hire activities in Tagum City and nearby provinces.
On the other hand, operatives nabbed Abdulhalik Daman, who yielded five blasting caps placed inside a playing card's plastic case.
Abdulhalik is allegedly related and affiliated with a certain Eric Ajibon Jailani, an Abu Sayyaf Group member involved in bombing activity and under ASG leader Furiji Indama.
