Hostage drama in Bulacan: Robbers use 2 students as human shields

MANILA, Philippines - Two armed robbers took two minors hostage to avoid being mobbed by bystanders in Bulacan, early Tuesday.

Reports said the unidentified robbers used a female Grade 6 pupil and a 3rd year high school student as human shields after a heist in Barangay Minuyan in San Jose del Monte town at around 3 a.m.

Police said the victims screamed for help when the robbers held them at gunpoint.

For fear of being mobbed by the residents, the suspects took the victims as hostages.

As of this posting, policemen were still attempting to convince the robbers to release the hostages.
