MANILA, Philippines - Aside from meeting with Super Typhoon Yolanda survivors, Pope Francis will dine with some victims of the magnitude-7.2 earthquake that devastated Bohol when he comes for a visit on Jan. 15 to 19 next year.
Tagbilaran Bishop Leonardo Medroso told Radio Veritas that the pope would share a meal with at least five earthquake victims.
“He will be going to Palo in Leyte and we will be sending some of my people there who were victims of the quake. They will eat with the pope,” Medroso said.
The bishop is hoping that Pope Francis would find time to visit Bohol, which is still undergoing rehabilitation.
“Even just for an hour or two to counsel our people,” he said.
