MANILA, Philippines — A 74-year-old man from Merseyside, England appeared in Wirral court on Thursday as a suspect for paying for the sexual abuse of children in the Philippines over the Internet.
Bryan Stanley faces two counts of "arranging or facilitating the commission of a child sex offense" on December 21 and 22 last year, according to a Liverpool Echo report.
Stanley is also suspected of downloading from his home in Birhenhead at least 286 images of children in various states of abuse.
Prosecutors were quoted as saying that the elderly pensioner had 97 images of the "most serious type" among the files retrieved from his laptop and desktop units by authorities.
The suspect is currently out on bail and is banned from accessing children under the age of 16. - Camille Diola
