MANILA, Philippines - At least P500,000 worth of property were destroyed after fire broke out inside a commercial establishment in Manila, before dawn Tuesday.
The blaze started in a medical supplies store on the second floor of the Scientific Product Company's building.
The flames quickly spread and razed chemical and medical supplies kept at the mezzanine of the building.
No one was hurt during the fire, which was put out around 2 a.m., but a firefighter was taken to a nearby ambulance after he complained of difficulty in breathing due to the thick smoke inside the building.
Arson investigators have yet to determine the cause of the fire.
