MANILA, Philippines - Local government units in Metro Manila on Monday night suspended Tuesday classes due to Tropical Storm "Glenda."
Classes from preschool to highschool levels were suspended (as of 10 pm) in:
Paranaque City
Mandaluyong City
Manila City
Makati City
Marikina City
Quezon City
Muntinlupa City
Caloocan City
Navotas
Malabon
Pasig City
Pasay City
Valenzuela
Cavite province
Some areas in Rizal province (Angono, Cainta, Cardona, Taytay, San Mateo, Antipolo City)
Classes in all levels were suspended in:
San Juan City
Pateros
Laguna
Camarines Sur
Areas were classes from preschool to elementary levels were suspended:
Malolos in Bulacan
Las Pinas
Weather bureau PAGASA hoisted public storm warning signal number 1 over Metro Manila and nearby provinces, including Cavite.
Storm signal number 3 is hoisted over Catanduanes province in Bicol.
Signal number 2 is hoisted over Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Masbate including Burias and Ticao Islands, Sorsogon, Albay, Marinduque, the southern part of Quezon and northern Samar.
The other areas under signal number were Romblon, Oriental and Occidental Mindoro, Lubang Island, Batangas, Laguna, Rizal, Bulacan, Pampanga, Bataan, Zambales, Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, Pangasinan, Southern Aurora, Northern Quezon including Polillo Islands, Eastern Samar, Samar, and Biliran Island.
