MANILA, Philippines - The Office of the Ombudsman has ordered the indictment of a former board member of Sarangani for failing to liquidate cash advances amounting to P340,000.
Based on an investigation conducted by the Commission on Audit, Hanafi Abdullatip Ibrahim failed to heed the agency’s demand to render an accounting of funds that he received in behalf of the Philippine Councilors’ League in 2006 and 2007.
Ibrahim was indicted before the Sandiganbayan for “failure of accountable officer to render accounts†punishable under Article 218 of the Revised Penal Code.
Ibrahim currently serves as an executive assistant in the Sarangani governor’s office, according to the Office of the Ombudsman.
Charges of malversation and violation of Section 3(e) of Republic Act 3019 filed against him over the unliquidated cash advances were dismissed due to insufficient evidence.
