ANGELES CITY, Philippines – Authorities arrested two alleged illegal drug traffickers in a raid that resulted in the recovery of shabu and unlicensed firearms here over the weekend.
Angel Estacio Jr., 34, and Edmund Pineda, 37, were arrested by members of the Pampanga Criminal Investigation and Detection Team at an apartment in Barangay Malabanias, said CIDT head Chief Inspector Heryl Bruno.
The suspects, Bruno said, initially claimed they were police informants. They did not resist arrest when the raiding team found shabu and handguns in the apartment.
He said village residents sought police assistance after they saw strangers, some reportedly armed, coming to Estacio’s apartment.
The seized items were brought to the CIDT office in Barangay Pampang while the suspects were detained at the CIDT jail.
