KORONADAL CITY, Philippines – At least 100 houses were destroyed when a tornado ripped through two villages in General Santos City Sunday night.
The tornado hit the villages of Tinagacan and Batomelong shortly before 6 p.m. and destroyed electrical lines and fruit-bearing trees, said the city disaster risk reduction and management council.
No one was reported hurt or killed in the incident.
Marylou Hasin, secretary of Barangay Batomelong, said 40 houses in her village were left without roofs while trees were thrown along the roads.
