MANILA, Philippines - The National Police Commission on Friday approved a resolution, prescribing the official uniform for members of the bike patrol of the Philippine National Police.
In a statement, Napolcom vice chairman and executive officer Eduardo Escueta said that the amendment focused on the replacement from the three sets of T-shirts for PNP personnel on bike patrol.
The sets are as follows: Set A: blue gray with dark blue collar worn on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays; Set B: navy blue with dark blue collar worn on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays; and, Set C: white with dark blue collar worn on Sundays.
Escueta said the shirt is for the use of the cops performing general law enforcement functions, like patrolling, investigation and field inspection of patrolmen.
The new shirt is more comfortable to wear especially during summer or hot weather condition, he added.
Escueta stressed that the PNP patrol shirt must always be tucked in and should not be worn inside night clubs, cockpits and other prohibited places; when riding in a public utility vehicles; when the policeman is not on duty or when performing administrative duties.
He said there will be no changes on the markings and embroideries on the new PNP patrol shirt, which is not tailored-fit to any exclusive manufacturer of shirt garments available in the market.
