2 men yield over P700K worth of shabu in Iloilo bust
MANILA, Philippines - Anti-narcotics agents apprehended two suspected big time drug pushers during a sting operation in Iloilo, seizing more than P700,000 worth of illegal substance, the Philippie Drug Enforcement Agency said on Wednesday.
PDEA director general Arturo Cacdac Jr. identified the suspects as Orlando Prado,38; and Michael Capero, 24;, both of Iloilo City.
The two yielded a total of 87.6785 grams of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as shabu, with an estimated market value of P745,267.25, Cacdac said.
Reports said that last Dec. 2, at around 5:50 p.m., operatives of PDEA Regional Office 6 arrested the two men after they sold a big transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu to an undercover PDEA agent who acted as poseur-buyer.
Also seized during the operation were 18 pieces of big transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance and the marked bills used as buy-bust money.
Both men will be charged with illegal drug cases before the court.
