Drug crazed man takes 6 hostage in Taguig

MANILA, Philippines - A man high on drugs took hostage six members of a family in Taguig City for more than three hours.
Taguig Mayor Lani Cayetano said authorities managed to rescue the victims, including a two-year-old boy, unhurt from the hands of hostage-taker Rael Aquino, 27 at past 4 p.m.
"Naging successful ang operation. He's thinking of opening the LPG tank. Sinisimulan na niyang buksan yung tank," Cayetano said right after the authorities rescued the victims.Cayetano said Aquino, who sustained minor injuries, has been taken into custody by police.
Aquino, armed with two kitchen knives, barged into a house at Block 11, Lot 17 in Barangay Pinagsama, Taguig City at past 1 p.m.The suspect then locked the victims in a room and holed up inside the house before requesting to speak with the father of the children.
The children's father said Aquino was incoherent when he tried to negotiate for the release of his brood."Anong ginawa kong kasalanan sa inyo? Bakit ko gusto ko kayong patayin?" the children's father quoted Aquino as saying.
At 4 p.m., the police took Aquino by surprise at lunged at him which paved the way for the safe release of the victims.
