BACOLOD CITY, Philippines - – At least 109 persons were arrested in Western Visayas for violating the gun ban imposed by the Commission of Elections in connection with the recent barangay polls, officials reported yesterday.
The Police Regional Office 6 said a total of 129 firearms, 48 bladed weapons, 27 improvised explosive devices, and three airsoft rifles were confiscated from the violators.
In Negros Occidental, the number of arrested violators climbed to 24. Thirteen of them were nabbed in Bacolod City.
