Vigan vying in ‘7 New Wonders Cities’

VIGAN CITY, Philippines – This northern city is now three steps away from the coveted title as one of the 7 New Wonders Cities of the World.

Vigan, according to Mayor Eva Medina, made it to the shortlist of 28 cities from among 77 entries entered in the search.   

The next stage of the search is ongoing until July 7 next year when the list is trimmed down to 21 cities.

The number will be further reduced to 14 cities before the final seven will be adjudged by Dec. 7, 2014 through text votes from Oct. 7 to Dec. 7, 2014.

Medina urged residents to participate in the global text voting.
