DAVAO CITY, Philippines – Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte assured the relatives of the five soldiers snatched by New People’s Army rebels that they are being treated well while in captivity.
A number of relatives of the five soldiers met with Duterte yesterday to ask him to facilitate the immediate release of the captives, who were seized in Paquibato district here last June 17.
Duterte though said that he was made to understand that the five soldiers had to undergo a certain process while in captivity before they are freed.
He, however, said he would work hard to make sure that the soldiers are released soon.
