MMDA chief puts us in a 'hellish' condition -- group

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The employees union of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority on Wednesday demanded from the MMDA leadership to comply with the decision of the Civil Service Commission to reinstate some  suspended personnel of the agency.

Citing a decision dated May 14, KKK-MMDA president Mar Araba said the CSC ruled that the preventive suspension on the agency personnel has been "reversed" and "set aside."

Araba said MMDA chairman Francis Tolentino has suspended some of the agency's personnel on Dec. 3, 2012 for their protest to demand the implementation of their collective negotiation agreement.

The MMDA rank and file employees have been demanding the appropriate compensation under the CNA which they claimed Tolentino has not complied with since 2011.

- Dennis Carcamo
