MEXICO, Pampanga, Philippines –- The Pampanga I Electric Cooperative (PELCO I) assured the public yesterday that there would be no power interruption in tomorrow’s elections.
Engineer Loliano Allas, general manager of the PELCO I, said that electric supply would be stable in the municipalities of Arayat, Candaba, Magalang, Mexico, San Luis and Sta. Ana.
“Of course, PELCO I can only guarantee that there will be no distribution-related interruptions. Any power interruption caused by other factors such as generation deficiencies or those pertaining to transmission are beyond our control,†Allas said.
The officials gave the assurance following the widespread blackout that hit Metro Manila and other areas in Central Luzon last Wednesday.
He said PELCO I would be on a red alert status during election day.
Allas said they would coordinate with other agencies in the power industry to ensure a power interruption-free election.
