TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines – New People’s Army (NPA) rebels ransacked the warehouse of a grains trader in Baggao, Cagayan, while armed men hijacked and torched an oil tanker in Allapacan town last Saturday, police said.
The insurgents held businessman Abraham Aurelio, 71, and his household members at gunpoint as they ransacked his warehouse. The rebels took Aurelio’s licensed M-16 rifle and escaped on his truck.
In Allapacan, at least eight armed men hijacked an oil tanker owned by one Jennifer Masangcay, and left it totally burned in a secluded place in the town.
