BFAR warns vs jellyfish attack in Bataan

SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga, Philippines – The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources has warned the public against possible jellyfish attacks in the waters of Bataan.

In a report here, Danny Abrera, BFAR-Bataan head, said the black jellyfish are common in the waters of Orani and Limay towns and Balanga City during summer.

“We would like to advise the public, especially the children, not to touch the jellyfish,” Abrera said.

He said the stinging tentacles of the jellyfish cause severe itching and rashes and could even cause blindness if it comes into contact with the eyes.
