MANILA, Philippines - A member of the family of the sultanate of Sulu on Monday sat down with Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas to find solutions to end the hostilities in Sabah between the Sulu Royal Army and Malaysian security forces.
Sultan Bantillan Esmael Kiram, brother of sultan Jamalul Kiram III, however, refused to elaborate the details of their meeting with Roxas.
"We have sat down in order to find ways and means para ma resolve ang problema natin doon sa Sabah. Hindi pa kami puwede makasabi kung ano pinag usapan namin because ire-report ito sa ating Pangulo," Bantillan told reporters after the meeting with Roxas at Camp Crame.
He added that his brother Jamalul knew about his plan to seek an appointment with Roxas for a meeting.
Esmael said he is satisfied with the outcome of the dialogue with Roxas.
The brother of Esmail and Jamalul, Raja Muda Agbimuddin Kiram, is now holed up in Sabah along with followers of the sultanate.
