MANILA, Philippines - Metro Manila and several other areas in Luzon should expect moderate to heavy rainfall until Friday afternoon, the weather bureau said.
In a "heavy rainfall" advisory issued at 11 a.m., weather bureau PAGASA said moderate to heavy rainfall will be experienced in Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna, Bantas, Rizal, Quezon, Bulacan, Pampanga, Bataan and Zambales until Friday afternoon.
It added that Nueva Ecija and Tarlac provinces will also experiences light to moderate rains.
PAGASA weather forecaster Adzar Aurelio said earlier that the rains being experienced in Luzon is caused by the northeast monsoon.
The weather bureau said that low-lying areas and those located along river channels should be on alert against flash floods.
Local government units and private school administrations have suspended classes in Metro Manila due to the bad weather.
