Mindoro town councilor falls in drug buy-bust

MANILA, Philippines - A municipal councilor is facing drug charges after he was arrested in a drug buy-bust together with a watch-listed drug pusher and a cohort in Mamburao, Occidental Mindoro last Friday.

Arrested, according to PDEA Director General Undersecretary Arturo Cacdac Jr., were Joseph Isidro, 27, incumbent municipal councilor of Sta. Cruz, Occidental Mindoro; Richard Supreiano, 39, a watch-listed drug dealer; and Jacqueline Madrigal, 46.

The suspects agreed to meet with the poseur-buyer last Friday night to sell two sachets of shabu, and were collared upon receiving the marked money, Cacdac said.

Madrigal was recently released from the Occidental Mindoro provincial jail after being detained for eight years on drug charges.
