NCRPO sacks 4 erring cops

MANILA, Philippines - National Capital Region Police Office head Director Leonardo Espina announced on Monday the dismissal of four, suspension of eight, and demotion of four other erring policemen.

Espina said the latest disciplinary action of the NCRPO has brought the total of number of 77 dismissed policemen, 25 cops demoted and 75 others suspended from the service.

The policemen who were dismissed  from the Philippine National Police (PNP) service in pursuant to the National Police Commission were PO3 Jessie Villanueva for robbery and Unlawful Arrest, PO2 Joseph Padilla for murder and attempted murder, PO1 Fulgencio Sideco for illegal discharge of firearm, and PO1 Danilo Buniel for being on absent without leave. 

Demoted policemen were SPO3 James Caesar R. Bautista who committed obstruction of justice and dishonesty, PO2 Ronald Beran for indiscriminate firing and physical injuries, PO2 Exequiel Arevalo for failure to attend court duty, and PO2 Jun Bernardo for being on AWOL.

Meanwhile,the eight suspended cops were PO1 Wilex Daganta for failing to comply with lawful order or instruction of a superior officer, PO2 Hubert Pascual for non-appearance in court, PO2 Ace Mitchell Adenic for indiscriminate firing, and  PO2 Fortunato Sus , SPO2 Diosdado E. Lagajino, PO1 Louie Aaron Siscar, PO1 Franer Gomez, and PO2 Noli Collado for going on AWOL.

"I am encouraging the public to come forward and report not only the wrong doings but the right  things their police is doing so we can also give them due recognition they deserve. Through this, we are not just cleaning the ranks but improve the performance of our policemen," Espina said.
