MANILA, Philippines - Unidentified assassins shot dead a policeman near his house in Maguindanao province on Sunday night.
Police said that Police Officer 3 Oscar Ronquillo of the Cotabato City Police Station 2 was gunned down outside his house in Barangay Salimbao, Sultan Kudarat town.
Initial investigations showed that the policeman's assailants used a .45 and 9mm pistols in the attack, based on the slugs recovered from the crime scene.
Police have yet to determine the motive behind the attack and the identities of the policeman's assailants. - Dennis Carcamo
