MANILA, Philippines - One of the two missing overseas Filipino workers during the hostage-crisis in Algeria has been found, bringing the Filipino casualties to eight, the Department of Foreign Affairs said on Friday.

DFA spokesperson Raul Hernandez said they have received last night a report from their team in Algeria that one of the OFWs has been found.

"Kagabi nakatanggap tayo ng isang ulat galing sa ating team sa Algeria...iyon namatay at positively identified ay walo na....iyon isa ay natagpuan na, isa na lang ang unaccounted for," Hernandez said in a radio interview.

However, he refused to name the eight OFWs who were killed in the Algeria hostage crisis on the request of their relatives and family members.

The DFA official said the companies that hired the OFWS have promised to help the Filipinos affected by the incident.
