BACOLOD CITY, Philippines – Police are eyeing a feud between two families behind the killing of a man who was shot 38 times in a pension house here last Saturday.
Senior Superintendent Ricardo de la Paz, city police chief, yesterday said the family of the victim, Lauro Delgado Jr., had been embroiled in a violent feud with another family in Barangay Canlusong in E. B. Magalona, Negros Occidental.
In August 2011, Delgado’s father, Lauro Sr., was also slain by a bandit group supposedly in connection with illegal logging activities in Barangay Canlusong.
In December last year, the house of the younger Delgado in the same village was burned down.
