19 injured in Isabela, Cagayan road accidents

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines – Nineteen people, including eight on their way to a relative’s wedding, were hurt in separate road mishaps in Isabela and Cagayan in the past two days.

As of yesterday, the eight wedding guests were still undergoing treatment at a Cauayan City hospital after their Mitsubishi Adventure rammed a parked Isuzu Forward truck along the national highway in Alicia, Isabela at around 4 a.m. yesterday.

The driver, identified as Henry Mendoza, reportedly lost control of the wheel after the headlights of an onrushing vehicle blinded him.

The victims were reportedly on their way from Isabela’s Santo Tomas town to Antipolo City to catch up with the wedding of a relative when the accident happened.

The previous day, 11 people were injured after one of the tires of the passenger jeep they were riding exploded while cruising along the national highway in Tuao, Cagayan. – Charlie Lagasca, Raymund Catindig
