MANILA, Philippines - President Aquino has issued Proclamation 500 renaming the Caticlan Airport in Aklan province as Godofredo Ramos Airport in honor of the former Aklan congressman, governor and Court of Appeals justice.
Ramos was the principal author of Republic Act 1414 separating the province of Aklan from Capiz, which was signed during the administration of the late President Ramon Magsaysay.
“The renaming of Caticlan Airport as Godofredo Ramos Airport is in recognition of his dedication to public service and unwavering commitment to the development of the province of Aklan,” Aquino said.
