MANILA, Philippines - Anti-narcotics agents arrested two suspected drug pushers during a sting operation in Zamboanga City, seizing around 50 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride, known as shabu, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said on Tuesday.
PDEA director general Arturo Cacdac Jr. said Jaina Hajijahpal, 32, of Acapulco, Sinunuc, Zamboanga City; Verkis Tahamid, 33, of Miramar, Sinunuc, were nabbed during a buy-bust operation conducted last November 11.
Cacdac said that the suspects were arrested around 3:30 p.m. by PDEA operatives after they sold approximately 50 grams of shabu worth over P190,000 to a agent poseur-buyer.
PDEA agents were able to recover the P500 marked bill used during the drug transaction, Cacdac added.
