MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine National Police (PNP) is working with ASEAN countries to help locate former Palawan governor Joel Reyes and his brother who are wanted for the killing of broadcaster and environmentalist Gerry Ortega on Jan. 24, 2011.
Director Samuel Pagdilao Jr., chief of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, said the CIDG, the PNP’s investigating arm, has been exerting efforts to locate Reyes and his brother Coron town Mayor Mario Reyes.
“There are efforts to monitor their whereabouts in collaboration with our counterparts from the ASEAN countries,” said Pagdilao in a briefing.
Pagdilao said Task Force Avengers was created to locate the Reyeses and three other high-profile fugitives – former Army Gen. Jovito Palparan, Dinagat Islands Rep. Ruben Ecleo Jr., and Delfin Lee, owner of Globe Asiatique Realty Holdings Corp.
