ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines – Police have filed multiple frustrated murder charges against four suspected Abu Sayyaf militants for the bombing of a bus here last Aug. 16.
Chief Inspector Elmer Acuña, Station 6 commander who has jurisdiction over the case, said the charges were filed against the suspects – a woman and three men – before the city prosecutor’s office last Wednesday following the identification of the four suspects.
“The suspects were identified through the pictures in the rogues’ gallery,” Acuña said.
The names of the suspects have been withheld though, as efforts to capture are ongoing, said SPO2 Alexander Mabalot, public affairs officer of the city police.
At least seven people were wounded in the blast that ripped through a bus of Rural Transit at the intersection of the Apolinario Loop and MCLL Highway in Barangay Guiwan this city.
