7 frat neophytes asked to help in probe
MANILA, Philippines - Seven neophytes of the Lex Leonum Fraternitas have sent feelers that they want to surface and reveal all they knew about the death of hazing victim, San Beda law student Marc Andrei Marcos.
Chief Superintendent James Melad, Calabarzon police director, clarified though that the seven neophytes are not yet suspects in Marcos’ death but warned that “they would be charged as accessory to the crime should they fail to cooperate in the police investigation of the case.”
Melad identified the neophytes as Manuel Adrian Cabansag, Enrico Pizaras Lopes, Daniel Almuete Baltazar, Jan Marcel Valendo Ragaza, John Ray Rivera, Jason Marquez Esquerra, and Reynaldo Dalisay.
Melad assured the neophytes of their safety and protection, as he gave them until next week to surface and appear before police investigators.
Melad said they are still locating more witnesses to strengthen their case against the suspects in Marcos’ hazing death.
He said they were coordinating their efforts with Marcos’ father, engineer Mac Ferdie, and legal counsel Marimeir Marcos-Rivera.
