Sta. Josefa, Agusan del Sur, Philippines – A fellow municipal councilor of Gregorio Plaza Sr., who was shot dead two weeks ago, said she has also been receiving death threats.
Mansueta Salise told The STAR at the wake of Plaza that she received death threats through text messages even before Plaza was gunned down.
The two councilors had demanded for an independent investigation into the alleged proliferation of illegal gambling in their town.
Salise and Plaza also sought a special audit of the transactions of the Sta. Josefa municipal government.
