21 found HIV-positive in Caraga region

BUTUAN CITY ,Philippines  – At least 21 persons in the Caraga region were found positive for human immuno deficiency virus (HIV) which causes the Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome, tests conducted by the AIDS Society of the Philippines (ASOP) showed.

This city has the most number of persons affected with HIV and the youngest is an 18-year-old girl, ASOP Butuan City coordinator Anthony Toralba said.

He said those who tested positive with HIV have already shown symptoms of the illness and their health condition is deteriorating.
