LINGAYEN, Pangasinan ,Philippines – A couple who were set to be married next month drowned as they tried to save a drowning companion in a beach here yesterday morning.
Samuel Balmones, 28, from Barangay Lasip Chico in Dagupan City and his fiancée Rowena Cuison, 28, a teacher and resident of Callejon, Pogo Grande also of Dagupan City drowned when they tried to rescue Jovelyn Lantiquis, 16, of Barangay Pantal.
