BAGUIO CITY, Philippines – A couple who owned a meat shop at the public market of Batac, Ilocos Norte was killed by motorcycle-riding men before dawn yesterday, authorities said.
Police said Ferdinand and Jocelyn Arevalo were heading to the public market when they were fired at in front of their house in Barangay Cangrunaan.
Provincial authorities have been frustrated over unsolved killings, believed to be mostly pulled off by guns-for-hire. – Artemio Dumlao, Teddy Molina
