Ilocos priest punches cockpit worker

BAGUIO CITY ,Philippines  – A Catholic priest in Ilocos Norte is in hot water for allegedly punching an employee of a cockpit arena.

Glen Guerrero of Dingras town in Ilocos Norte filed a case for serious physical injuries and grave threat against Fr. Ronnie Pillos, saying the priest even threatened to kill him.

Guerrero said the incident happened when Pillos ordered him to properly strap a blade in a fighting cock’s leg. When he answered back, he said the priest punched him and even threw a bottle at him.

Dingras police said Guerrero also claimed in his complaint that he heard a gunshot when the priest left but could not ascertain if it was the priest who fired the shot.

The priest’s brother, Dingras Sangguniang Bayan member Nerio Pillos, admitted that his brother was inside the cockpit but only because he accompanied some guests.
