DOJ: ARMM gov can award agrarian land

MANILA, Philippines –  The Department of Justice (DOJ) has affirmed that authority of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) to award lands to beneficiaries of government’s agrarian reform program.

Secretary Leila de Lima said the ARMM, through its governor, may issue Certificate of Land Ownership Awards (CLOAs) to agrarian reform beneficiaries, particularly in the province of Maguindanao.

She said the authority vested in the ARMM governor is in line with the devolution of powers from the national government to the autonomous regional government.
