PhilHealth office robbed
SOLANO, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines – Confronted with three robberies during the New Year, police here still faces another case, with the provincial office of the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) losing its vehicle loaded with office equipment to robbers Friday morning.
The PhilHealth office is located on the second floor of a two-story building along the national highway in Barangay Quirino or about 500 meters from a police station.
Lani Castillo, PhilHealth officer-in-charge, said their red-plated Mitsubishi Adventure was loaded with computers, printing machines and other equipment supposed to be transported to their regional office in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan later that day.
The stolen office equipment were valued at P200,000, and the service vehicle, at least P300,000.
Guard-on-duty Juan Panaga said the vehicle was parked in front of the PhilHealth office when he made his routine inspection at around 3 a.m.
